snowed-in sewing week[end]

Wednesday, February 10, 2010

i finally finished a few sewing projects last night. now i’m ready to start new ones.

snowed-in sewing weekend
the two fitted crib sheets needed their edges turned and finished so they wouldn’t fray.

snowed-in sewing weekend
cloth wipes, turned and top-stitched. some flannel-flannel, flannel-sherpa, and flannel-terry. the orange striped fabric is flannel, the orange fabric is organic cotton terry, and the white is organic cotton sherpa. there’s 30 there, but i think i might sew some more flannel-flannel.

i like the 4.5″x7″ size. it’ll fit in a disposable wipes case without being folded in half and i think they’re easier to handle. we’ll see, i suppose, once i have a baby bottom to clean.

snowed-in sewing weekend
more fabric waiting to be cut for the crib skirt. maybe i can get this finished this week. it’s been ironed. i just need to cut it into strips and sew together. i think i’m only going to sew 3 sides instead of 4 since the crib is against the wall. it might be cheating, but it’ll save me some fabric that i might be able to use on a baby quilt instead.

I really enjoy reading about all the things you do. Your sewing projects sound sooo tiresome. I love to sew, but I must admit, I am unsure if I would do all that work – so, two thumbs up for you!
