brief distraction

Thursday, October 22, 2009

today has been an eventful day. first, we went to our next doctor’s appointment to check up on how the baby is growing. the wiggly thing took a while to settle down before we could hear it’s heartbeat again—a healthy 150+ bpm. we also scheduled “the big ultrasound” for Nov 11. this would normally be the one where we’d find out the gender, but since we’ve decided to be surprised, that part won’t be happening. still, it’ll be a longer, more extensive ultrasound and i can’t wait. three weeks!

secondly, i worked from home today so that someone could be home to sign for hubby’s expected school materials for full sail, which included a new 15″ macbook pro in addition to his books for his first class that starts on monday. since hubby got a 17″ macbook pro with our savings in january, this baby was mine. i’m now retiring our black macbook from japan—the one that actually has quite a story that includes me running through shibuya before we caught our train to the airport on the day we were supposed to leave.

thirdly, i’m happy to say we’ve settled on names. one for a boy and one for a girl. it feels good to have all of that out of the way. all i have to say about the naming experience is that middle names are hard.
